Charlie was a great coach, trainer and mentor and brought Falconbridge (now Glencore) into provincial winning form in mine rescue competitions. We hadn't won in over 20 years until Charlie raised our level to winning 3 consecutive years and building the knowledge base to a point where we could sustain ourselves. He used to say "Mine Rescue is simple - save lives, fight fires and re-ventilate the mine." Thanks Charlie.
