Obituary for Sir Knight William "Bill" Langlois

Sir Knight William "Bill" Langlois
LANGLOIS, Sir Knight William D. “Bill”

St-Jacques Assembly #1746

The family announces with sorrow his death January 29, 2018 at Health Sciences North surrounded by his loving family. He was 83 years old. Predeceased by his parents William G, Langlois & Joséphine (née Lachapelle). William was born in North Bay, ON. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, best friend and soulmate Marie-Rose (née Gauvin). Beloved father of William A. (Marthe), Donald D. predeceased at age 15, Phillip (Hélène), Gerald (Susanne), Raymond (Mary) and Monique Constantineau (Keith). Cherished Pepere to William P., Donald, Jessica, Joey, Lisa, Renée, François, Samantha, Stephanie Langlois, Megan & Kyle Constantineau. Proud Papi to his great grandchildren: Caleb, Jersey, Maddox, Brooke, Eli, Bennett, Owen, Westley, Aria, Madison and Lydia, twelfth one to be born in March. His happiest times were when he was surrounded by his family. His quote for that: “It all started with a kiss.” He was predeceased by his sisters, Therese, Pauline, Gloria and his brother George. He is survived by his brother in law Wayne Oates, God-daughters Paulette Szabo, Sue Gauvin, Heather Pierce & Mary Langlois, many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Sir Knight William was Faithful Navigator, and also Past Grand Knight for Council 5005 Hanmer. He was very proud that his four surviving sons were also Knights of Columbus. A devout catholic, he attended St-Jacques Church in Hanmer then Ste-Marguerite d`Youville Church, Val Therese. Sir William and his wife Marie-Rose had a talent and a passion for singing and shared this with family, friends and in church choirs. He will be remembered for his “Minuit Chrétien” that he sang in Hanmer and Val Caron. He retired from Inco after 35 years of service. He was well liked and respected by all who knew him. Always ready to lend a helping hand when his health permitted. After his retirement he took up cooking and everyone enjoyed his soups, pickled eggs, pickled wieners and his secret recipe for ripe olives. He will be sadly missed, but never forgotten. The family will receive relatives & friends at the COOPERATIVE FUNERAL HOME, 4570 St-Joseph St., Hanmer on Friday, February 2, 2018 from 2 to 5pm and 7 to 9:30pm
Prayers by the Knights of Columbus at 8pm. Mass of Christian burial will be held Saturday at 10 am at Ste-Marguerite d’Youville Church, Val Therese. In lieu of flowers, donations by cheque or online to the Heart & Stroke Foundation, the Lung Association or a charity of your choice would be appreciated. www.cooperativefuneralhome.ca
