The family announces with sorrow her passing on Wednesday, May 6, 2015, in Sudbury at the age of 91 years with family at her side. Predeceased by her husband of 65 years, Guy (passed away January 28, 2014). Predeceased by her parents Albert and Oliva (née Delorme) Daoust of Sturgeon Falls. Loving mother of Gisèle Sabourin (Ted) of Vancouver, Denis Sabourin (Diane) of Chelmsford, Diane Sabourin (Daniel) of Lloydminster, Sask., Marc Sabourin of Calgary and Yvan Sabourin of Terrace, B.C. Predeceased by her son Gaston (Melanie of Moose Jaw). Predeceased by her siblings Jeanne Taylor, Fernand, Lucille Pépin, Gilles, Sr. Armande, Gérard, Sr. Germaine, Lionel and Jean-Guy. Cherished sister of Georgette Roy of Nova Scotia and Thérèse Joanette of Sudbury. Marcelle is survived by 8 grand-children (Neesham, Kody, Pascal, Tristan, Trevor, Adrianna, Gaetanne and Paul) and 3 great grand-children. She was predeceased by 2 grand-sons Bohdan and Jacob. Marcelle and Guy build a home on Brookside Road in Chelmsford in early 1953 and a second home after the first one was destroyed by fire in 1957. As a young woman, she worked as a bookeeper for the Town of Sturgeon Fall, raised 6 children and went back to work when the children were grown up, then she worked for the Senator Hotel in Sudbury and Timmins for a few years and moved on to work for Mainville Lumber in Chelmsford till her retirement. She was always involved in different community organizations; Saint Vincent Paul, Ladies Auxiliary - Branch 553, Seniors Craft Shop and the Chelmsford Fish and Game. Throughout the years, she enjoyed her many hobbies including sewing, darts, knitting and quilting. She displayed her eye for colour with fabrics and wool. We will miss her greatly, the matriarch who cooked many wonderful meals for family and friends. The Family would like to thank the Personnel at Pioneer Manor whom provided exceptional care during her stay there. Family will receive relatives and friends at the COOPERATIVE FUNERAL HOME, Chelmsford on Saturday, May 9, 2015, from 7-9 p.m. Donations to the Arthritis Society can be made by cheque or online at www.cooperativefuneralhome.ca.
