It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of Elisabeth (Else) surrounded by her loving family at Health Sciences North on Sunday, July 1st, 2018 at the age of 90 years. Daughter of the late Emil and the late Emilia (née Köninger) Madlinger of Germany. Beloved wife of the late Franz Josef Knopf of Sudbury. Loving mother (Mutti) of (Sibylle) Claudia Sullivan of Mississauga. Beloved and cherished Omi of Christopher and Lisa Sullivan of Mississauga and Great Omi of Angelina. Dear sister of Rosa, Otto Sr., Arthur, Hanni, Emmi, Friedel, Mariele, Willi, and families of Germany. Born in Achern, Germany. Else will always be remembered for her kindness, love, and dedication to family and friends. She enjoyed knitting, needlepoint, music, baking, and gardening. The family will receive relatives and friends for a celebration of life at the Cooperative Funeral Home, 222 Lasalle Blvd, Sudbury on Wednesday, July 4th, 2018 from 2-4 p.m. There will be no formal funeral service.
