She was named Mimi by her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and was adopted by many others in her life’s journey. She had worked at the local Dominion and IGA stores in the meat departments when younger and as well as KFC. At the age of 41 she went back to school and graduated from nursing at Cambrian College. She went to work at Extendicare York for many years subsequently. She ended her career at the Jarrett Centre - Le Café at Falcon Five teaching vocational life skills to many students. Many extended family members stayed with her own family, as she took them in for she was a deeply charitable and devout catholic. She fostered a child, Patrick whom she loved as her own child. Brothers Michael, the late Patrick, and their late father Johnny found a home in her house for many years. Music was important in her life, she sang at the Easter and Christmas choir for about 40 years. Juliette had a gift for imitation in her story telling. She never forgot a birthday and her favourite food was fish which her grandchildren amply supplied. She liked to travel, going to New Orleans before Katrina, vacationing in Florida, visiting Nashville, Phoenix, Las Vegas and PEI. She often visited Viviane, her “catin” and enjoyed being pampered with her family in Caledon. She spent her summers at Camp on Birch Island, tending her gardens, enjoying her children and children’s children and devouring any fish that came her way.
