April 2nd, 1918- May 11th, 2018
It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, Jeannine Quesnel, on Friday, May 11th, 2018 at Pioneer Manor at the age of 100 years with her loving family by her side. Dear daughter of predeceased Aza and Eulalie (née Dutrisac) Paiement. Beloved wife of Raoul Quesnel who predeceased her in 1992. Loving mother of Madeleine Meandro (Frank predeceased), Raymond Quesnel (Pauline), Paul Quesnel predeceased in 2004, Denise Quesnel predeceased in 2008, and Robert Quesnel (Nicole). Grandmother of Chris Meandro (Maria), Julie Quesnel predeceased in 2016, Lise Tullis (Cam), Rachel Quesnel (Guy Robichaud), Renee-Claude Thériault (Luc) and Charles Quesnel. Cherished great grand-mother of Marissa and Juliana Meandro, Alexis and Dominic Thériault. Predeceased by all her sisters and brothers, Annette Belcourt (Jerome deceased), Azarie Paiement (Fauvette deceased), Florence Frappier (Lionel deceased), Hughes (Rita deceased), Leoze Langlois (Emile deceased), Elphège Paiement (Jeanne D’Arc deceased) and Dolorèse Côté (Claude deceased). Jeannine was born in Blezard Valley where she completed her studies. Prior to her marriage to Raoul Quesnel in 1941, she worked at St. Joseph Hospital and years later returned working the kitchen at the same hospital. She was also a sale person for Watkin products. She was a member of Ste Anne des Pins parish and later St-Jean de Brébeuf Parish. Knitting, crocheting, sewing, gardening were her hobbies. Musically she loved to play the mouth organ with great enthusiasm and sing and listen to music. She composed a song called “Si j’étais une fleur”. She will always be remembered for her love of telling stories and her heartfelt laugh. The family will receive relatives and friends at the COOPERATIVE FUNERAL HOME, 222 Lasalle Blvd, Sudbury on Wednesday, May 16th, 2018 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. The funeral service will take place in the chapel, on Thursday, May 17th, 2018 at 10 a.m. Donations by cheque or online to St-Jean-de-Brébeuf Church renovation fund or to Pet Save would be greatly appreciated. www.cooperativefuneralhome.ca
