It is with great sorrow that Claire’s children announce the passing of their beloved mother, at the age of 93, on February 17, 2018. Sister of Laurette Rondeau (Gerry predeceased) and predeceased by 11 siblings. Claire was the devoted wife of the late George Bertrand. Together, they raised their nine children: Henri (Micheline Beaumont), Claudette (Claude Baril predeceased), Rachel, Lorraine (Bob Kitchen), Louise (Mike Shlemkevich predeceased), Paul (Linda Marcucci), Marc (Lynn), Francine Vaillancourt and Jean (Allison). She was also treasured by her 15 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. The family will receive relatives and friends at the Cooperative Funeral Home, 222 Lasalle Blvd, Sudbury, on Thursday, February 22 from 2 to 5 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. The funeral mass will be held at St-Jean-de-Brébeuf Church on Friday, February 23 at 10:30 a.m. At our mother’s request, donations to Maison McCulloch Hospice or Alzheimer’s Society of Sudbury can be made by cheque or online (www.cooperativefuneralhome.ca).
