The family announces with sorrow his passing at Health Sciences North Hospital, Sudbury, Thursday, January 11, 2018 at the age of 79 years. Son of the late Albert Bélisle and the late Estelle Bélisle (née Moncion). Loving husband of Colette Bélisle (née Therrien). Loving father of Marc Bélisle (Carmen) of Val Caron, Lynn Paradis (André) of Nairn Centre, Suzanne Gorrie (Trent) of Caledon East and Léo Bélisle (Julie) of Val Caron. Dear brother of the late Germain Bélisle (Anita) of Blezard, Edgard Bélisle (Laurette) of Hanmer, Cécile Comtois (late Marcel) of Rockland, Rene Bélisle of Latulipe, Marcelle Dutrisac (late Marcel) of Sudbury, Robert Bélisle (Barbara) of North Bay. Lovingly remembered by his 7 grandchildren, Michelle, Sarah (Justin), Graham, Emily (Jordon), Jacqueline, Adam, Dawson and his great-grandchildren, Gavin Powless and Aurelle Paradis. He was an outstanding, generous, caring, loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. Omer was a keen and dedicated businessman in the Valley. He was a member of Les Chevalier de Colombs, The Ontario Racing Commission and he was an avid horseman. Omer’s favorite pastimes were; fishing, hunting and hosting family parties for all holidays and especially his BIRTHDAY! The family will receive relatives and friends at the COOPERATIVE FUNERAL HOME, 222 Lasalle Blvd, Sudbury, Sunday, January 14, 2018 from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9:00 p.m. as well as Monday, January 15, 2018 from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. at Ste-Marguerite d’Youville Church, Val Thérèse. Donations to Diabetes Canada, Kidney Foundation, Heart and Stroke Foundation, Northern Cancer Foundation or dedicate a mass would be appreciated.
