Condolence: Noone who everwent to Haileybury Public could ever forget Mr. Blackwell. He WAS the school. He was a wonderful boss to my mum for many years and she knew she was lucky to work for him.

My favourite memory of my school years, and Mr. Blackwell would have been the organizer, were the wonderful Christmas concerts in the hallway for the entire school where we all came together to sing carols. It was magical for me each and every year.

Condolences to all of you. Losing a parent is one of the harder things we go through. Know you are cradled in the loving thoughts of many as you begin this journey.

Condolence: Our sympathies to Spark's family.
As well as being my cousin, Spark was my teacher at his first school in Brower. Even after 65 years, I still vividly remember "outdoor ed". He had us study the creek & frogs around the school yard . As an educator, he was certainly ahead of his time .

Condolence: My thoughts are filled with fond memories of my mentor & friend. Cecil hired me to my first teaching position at Haileybury PS and then was instrumental in my appointment as s principal. We became colleagues for a number of years until he became my “boss” as superintendent. He was always a mentor and excellent role model. Thank you for helping me to have a successful career Cec!!! Condolence: Len and I were saddened to learn of Cec’s death. We have such fond memories of he and my Dad together. How they laughed. We always made an effort to see him in a parade. Our last memory of Cec was him arriving at our cottage on Gillies Lake with his fishing rod. Dad wasn’t there but Len took him out and dropped him off at a good spot, not too far from the dock. Less than half an hour later, Cec called for Len to come get him. He had caught a fish and was disappointed. He told Len he hadn’t wanted to catch a fish... he just wanted to fish. Such a good memory of a good friend of our family.

Condolence: So sorry to hear of Cec's passing! Condolences to the family. Cec was a true gentleman and a consummate professional. Carol and I had the pleasure of teaching at the same time with him and being supervised by him here in the Temiskaming Board of Ed. (District School Board O.N.E.) Dedicated and sincere about the teaching profession, Cec was missed when he left, and will be missed even more now.
