Obituary for Dalton Weegar

Dalton Weegar
The family announces the peaceful passing of Dalton E. Weegar in his 89th year. Born and raised in North Bay. Son of Ed and Margaret Weegar (both pre-deceased). Loving husband to Juliette Weegar (nee Larocque) for 46 years. Dalt found his life partner and enjoyed the cottage in North Bay and West Arm, traveling the world, golfing and spending time with family. His daughter Sorel (Jason) was blessed by his love. His grandsons Daniel and Jeremy were his pride and joy. He enjoyed many years building relationships both personally and in business. He lived with integrity. He graduated from General Motors Institute of Technology in Flint, MI in 1957. He was employed by Motors Insurance Corp as a Senior Adjuster until 1962 when he moved to Sudbury and opened business as the city’s first independent collision appraiser. He operated as Weegar Collision Appraisal until retiring in November 1991. He then enjoyed evaluating classis cars. Dalt is survived by his siblings Virginia from BC and George (wife Pat) from Texas. Predeceased by his sister Beth. The Larocque family will cherish the memories. The story telling, playing cribbage and “Stick Your Neighbor” at the cottage. Thank you to the home care workers who displayed patience and understanding. We are very grateful for the caring nurses at Falconbridge Extendicare (3rd floor). The family will receive relatives and friends at the COOPERATIVE FUNERAL HOME, 222 Lasalle Blvd, Sudbury on Thursday, July 7 from 2 pm to 4 pm and 5:30 pm to 7pm. A funeral service will follow at 7:30 pm in the COOPERATIVE FUNERAL HOME Chapel. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Alzheimer Society Sudbury-Manitoulin and to the Sudbury and District Ostomy Association would be appreciated.
