“Nothing will separate us from the love of God.” (Rm 8:39). The family announces with sorrow his death in Sudbury, on Saturday, February 20, 2016. Beloved husband of Marguerite, predeceased. Very loving father of 4 children: Stanley, predeceased, Wilfred, predeceased, (wife Mary), Georges, predeceased (friend Debbie), Marie-Rose also known as Pam, (husband, André Aubin). Maurice will be sadly missed by his grand children, Angel, Cassandra, Shay and Crystal and his great grand-children, Tate, Tilton, Jenna and Joseph. He was the loving brother of Alexis, predeceased, (Jeanne, predeceased), Laurent, predeceased, (Rolande), Fernand, predeceased, Armand, predeceased (Barbara, predeceased), Georges, predeceased, Ernest (Claudette), Cécile (Dr. Raymond Bonin), Florence Nault-Boivin, predeceased, Jeannette (Roma Joly, predeceased), Madeleine, predeceased (Leon Shymanski, predeceased), Lorraine (Prof. Dr. John Sahadat), Germaine Brûlé, Gilberte Nault-Bouillon, predeceased, and Micheline (Yvan Demers). Maurice’s last occupation was a night security guard at the Matte Residence, University of Sudbury, from which he retired in the year 2000. This was a position he enjoyed very much as he loved to create a pleasant atmosphere for the students in residence, and to play pool with them whenever time permitted. In the community he was well known as Pops or Shorty. He loved playing pool at the Rhythm and Cues, meeting other friends at the Bingo One, and participating in various types of activities at St. Gabriel Villa where he resided. Maurice had a high devotion to the Virgin Mary. He was very devoted to his family, friends, and society. Resting at the Co-operative Funeral Home, on 222 Lasalle Blvd., Sudbury Visitation will be held on Tuesday, February 23rd, 2016 from 2-5 and 7-9 p.m. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, February 24th, 2016 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Jean de Brébeuf Church on Notre Dame St. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Building funds of St. Jean de Brébeuf Church or Memorial masses will be greatly appreciated.
