Obituary for Walter Zieleniewski

Walter Zieleniewski
It is with great sorrow that the family announces his passing on Monday, April 27, 2015 at the age of 90 years. Beloved husband of 63 years to Heather Zieleniewski (née Crosbie). Loving father of Peter Zieleniewski (Judy Scully), Stanley Zieleniewski (Diana) and Helen Campbell (Lorne). Predeceased by his sister. He will be fondly remembered by his grandchildren Jamie, David, Troy, Joel, Krystina and Angela as well as 7 great-grandchildren. Sadly missed by many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Walter was a native of Poland and a proud Canadian, a WWII veteran who bravely fought with the Polish II Corps “Drugi Korpus Wojska Polskiego” and the Third Carpathian Rifles in Italy. He retired from INCO with 33 years of experience, a proud member of the Onaping Falls Fire Department for 37 years and was an all around community volunteer. The family will receive relatives and friends at the Cooperative Funeral Home, 4691 R.R. 15, Chelmsford, on Friday, May 1, 2015 from 2-5 and 7-9:30 p.m. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Saturday, May 2, 2015 at 11 a.m. at St-Stephen the Martyr Church, Dowling. Donations (by cheque only) in Walter’s memory to the Canadian Diabetes Association or St-Stephen the Martyr Parish would be appreciated. “Old soldiers never die. They just fade away.”
